Katie Day

Katie Day first tried yoga while abroad in Florence, Italy in 2010. She was immediately drawn to the practice, and yoga became a regular part of her life upon her return to America later that year. After a few years in the corporate world, Katie decided it was time to make a career change, and followed her heart to begin working with children. Katie became a full-time nanny and started training to become a yoga instructor. She hasn’t looked back since.


With immense gratitude to her gurus, Katie received her 200-hour certification in Yoga of Energy Flow under the mentorship of Daniel Orlansky and Liz Owen at the Arlington Center in June 2016. She also trained under Dawn Keighley at Coolidge Corner Yoga and Meg Durkin at Childlight Yoga to become certified in children’s yoga.


Katie’s intention is to offer the gift of yoga to children as a way to strengthen and balance their mind, body and spirit. Her children’s classes include age-appropriate yoga sequences that utilize props, music, crafts, and storytelling to help children explore the basics of yoga including breath, movement, and relaxation.

Yogi Beans (3.5 - 6): Join us this summer for a non-traditional yoga class will take your little one on invigorating, imaginative adventures to places like the African savannas, Arabian deserts, and the deep blue sea. Classes begin with breathing exercises to relax and focus attention inward. Incorporating asana (yoga poses) and pranayama (breath work) into highly imaginative play allows kids to build strength, increase flexibility, and improve concentration...all while having fun! Class ends with restorative poses and breathing exercises, leaving your little one happy, inspired, and relaxed. Older siblings welcome!
